Four Corners Apron...

I absolutely love aprons. This is one of my favorites. It's called the Four Corners Apron and is put together similar to the log cabin quilt block. Daley, my youngest, went to a quilt guild meeting with me several years ago. The speaker was demonstrating how to make this apron. Daley liked it, so I bought the pattern for her. Last Christmas she made one for each of her sisters. They turned out positively "delicious". I am going to go through my "stash" this weekend and see what I can come up with. I would like to make one in reds and greens for Christmas.
This one is hanging in my daughter Dusty's kitchen.
Have a great day!!!

Thought for Today...

"Look at a day when you are supremely satisfied at the end. It's not a day when you lounge around doing nothing; it's when you've had everything to do, and you've done it." - Margaret Thatcher

Have a great day!!!

Has the heat wave broke?

I try to never look a gift horse in the mouth, but it has been so nice and cool here these past three days I find it hard to believe. I may not be talking nice and cool to anyone outside of Texas, but to me the high 80's are nice and cool.
I took Fuzzy and the dogs out this morning and had to coax them back inside.
We picked Tall Feathers up from school and spent another thirty minutes outside before homework had to be done. It was just too good to pass up.
If you're in Texas enjoy, I don't think it's supposed to last.
(Still no rain.)
Have a nice day!!!

Labor Day Celebration...

Daley, my youngest, called me last week to ask if we could all get together for a Labor Day celebration. She asked if Dad could cook brisket. She said she would be bringing her roommate Janell and new boyfriend Vijay. We had heard a lot about him, but had not met him. So, yesterday we met Vijay, had a feast and made memories. The celebration was a success.
We approved.
The brisket was fall-apart-tender.
The game of Catch Phrase lasted for hours.
The boys played Chess and Candyland.
Fuzzy serenaded us on the piano.

Have a great Labor Day!!!
